The Insulated Clad Door is our most popular door design, combining the warmth and character of recycled Australian hardwood with exceptional strength, stability and thermal performance. Designed and refined over many years, it has become the preferred choice for homeowners, architects and builders seeking a premium timber door that performs as beautifully as it looks.

The design combines the clean appearance of full-height timber boards with the engineered strength of a traditional mortise and tenon door. The result is a simple, elegant, aesthetic that often becomes a feature of the home, whether used as a front entry door, oversized pivot door or internal feature door.

Designed for Strength and Stability

Timber is a natural material that expands and contracts as environmental conditions change. The Insulated Clad Door has been specifically engineered to accommodate this movement while maintaining long-term structural integrity.

The door is constructed using full-thickness timber stiles, concealed internal rails and vertical recycled timber cladding on both faces. This construction creates the appearance of a solid timber plank door while retaining the strength of a traditional framed door.

For maximum durability, all major joints are constructed using double mortise and tenon joinery. This proven method creates an exceptionally strong connection that remains secure over time.

Superior Thermal and Acoustic Performance

A key feature of the Insulated Clad Door is its insulated core. The cavities within the door are filled with Steico BASE SD natural wood fibre insulation, a high-performance insulation material that offers excellent thermal and acoustic properties.

This construction helps improve energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer through the door while also providing excellent sound insulation between spaces. As a result, the Insulated Clad Door is equally suited to front entry applications and internal areas where acoustic separation is important.

The insulation material is highly fire resistant, free from polystyrene and other synthetic additives, and does not emit toxic gases in the event of a fire.

Ideal for Larger Doors

The Insulated Clad Door is particularly well suited to larger door designs where strength and stability are essential. With a maximum size of 3000mm high x 1350mm wide, it allows for impressive entry statements while maintaining excellent performance.

The standard door thickness is approximately 60mm, although 50mm construction may be possible for some applications. The increased thickness contributes to the door's strength, insulation value and premium feel, but will usually require a custom jamb when replacing an existing standard door.

Clean dressed finish, or retain the sawtooth surface for more character and patina

Because locks and hardware are incorporated during construction hardware selections must be finalised before production begins.
