The Tambour Sideboard brings together elegant design and practical storage in a piece that celebrates the beauty of Australian recycled hardwood. It combines clean modern lines with the warmth and texture of solid timber. Every detail — from the 106 individual staves that form its sliding doors to the soft matt finish — is shaped with precision and purpose.
Functional Design, Crafted Detail
The name tambour refers to the curved slatted doors that glide open to reveal internal shelving and drawers. Each stave is individually shaped, sanded and joined with a natural canvas backing, allowing the doors to slide smoothly along their track. The narrow slats display the beautiful colour and tone variation of the recycled hardwoods, and complement the grain matching of the central drawers.
The cabinet includes a practical combination of fixed shelving and drawers, offering generous storage for dining, living or office spaces. We can customise any of your internal storage options with the Tambour Sideboard. The result is a sideboard that’s both highly functional and sculptural — refined yet robust, made to be used and admired every day.

It’s available in any of our recommended species, with the red earthy tones of the Blue Gum / Coastal Reds or the beautiful blonde colouring of Canberra Local Ash, each bringing a unique tone and grain variation. These recycled timbers are carefully selected and dressed to a clean, contemporary finish that reveals their natural beauty, history and depth of colour.

Our joinery team has been hard at work in the workshop, and we’re excited to offer a limited number of Tambour Sideboards ready for immediate purchase. These pre-made pieces are crafted to the same exacting standard as our made-to-order furniture, showcasing the quality and character of our recycled Australian hardwoods — without the usual 10–14 week production time.
