New Hand-Turned Recycled Timber Bowls

October 2026

Hand turned from high-quality recycled Australian hardwood offcuts saved from the Thor’s Hammer workshop, our timber bowls give these beautiful materials a new life. Each piece reveals its own combination of grain, colour and natural markings, making every bowl unique.

Hand turned recycled timber bowls, available in 5 sizes and 4 timber species.

Available in five sizes and a selection of Australian hardwoods, including Blackbutt / Dense Browns, Bluegum / Coastal Reds and Canberra Local Ash, there's a bowl for everything from serving snacks to sharing a salad. Each bowl is finished with Osmo Polyx Oil Satin, which is certified food safe by the European Union.

Beautiful enough to leave on display and practical enough for everyday use, these bowls make thoughtful gifts for weddings, engagements and housewarmings, or for anyone who appreciates Australian timber and well-made objects. Use them for serving food, storing everyday essentials or adding a natural timber element to your home.

Pair them with our recycled timber serving platters and chopping boards, or collect a set in different sizes and timber species.

Perfect for entertaining.

Spice Bowl

At 100mm in diameter, this little bowl is ideal for salt, spices and sauces. Keep one handy in the kitchen or bring it to the table when you're entertaining.

Snack Bowl

The 150mm Snack Bowl has a shallow profile, making it a handy choice for nuts, olives, chips and dips. Just right for putting out a few snacks when friends drop by.

Side Bowl

At 220mm in diameter, the shallow Side Bowl is suited to individual side salads, pasta and desserts. Its low profile makes it a versatile addition to the dining table.

Fruit Bowl

Also 220mm in diameter, the deeper Fruit Bowl offers more room for storing fruit or serving a shared salad. The deeper profile gives it a different look and purpose to the Side Bowl.

Serving Bowl

At 300mm in diameter, the Serving Bowl is the largest in the range. Use it for shared salads and pasta, keep fruit on the kitchen bench or make it a centrepiece on the dining table.

Visit Thor’s Hammer

The bowls are available to view and purchase in person at the Thor’s Hammer showroom in Griffith, Canberra. Come in, browse the range and choose your own bowl. With every piece having its own grain, colour and natural markings, you can find one that's uniquely yours.

Can't make it to the showroom? We'll soon have the bowls available to purchase online, so stay tuned.

Care instructions

Wipe your bowl with a damp cloth. Do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher.

If the timber surface begins to look dull, clean and dry it thoroughly before applying a thin coat of Osmo Polyx Oil with a rag, following the manufacturer's instructions.

A note on natural variations

Every bowl is individually hand turned from recycled Australian hardwood, so variations in grain, colour and natural markings are part of what makes each piece unique. All dimensions are approximate, and the diameter and depth may vary slightly from the stated measurements.
