A GROUNDED FAMILY HOME

It's so wonderful to see natural materials being used in construction.

There's a reason we're in the industry we're in I guess! ... Seeing raw materials like timber and stone in a space brings us serious joy. We were stoked to contribute to this one.

These clients were keen on using as many natural materials as possible to achieve a building that sat well within the landscape of their bushy Canberra suburb. Designed by Adam Hobill Design and built by Rosin Bros - what a collab - they truly nailed it.

Our House Roof Flooring, which is flooring we mill here at The Hammer from recycled house roof timbers, is the flooring throughout. Along with the solid timber stair treads. Blackbutt was the chosen species - which brings a great warmth to the building's lovely naturally lit spaces and a successful contrast to the other materials.
