CAPITAL BREWING
If somehow you haven’t already checked out Canberra’s newest beer institution - and you enjoy lawn games, burgers, beautiful recycled timber and maybe the odd beer, it’s time to head down to Capital Brewing’s brewery and tap room at Dairy Road in Fyshwick.
The bar and a heap of tables are built from fine grained recycled Oregon we sourced from a demolition in Brisbane. It’s not often we use Oregon, but the old salvaged stock we picked up looks really great compared to the new stuff you see around. With very few knots, it looks more like a Cedar, but harder.
It’s also worth checking out the bar top – we left the boards as they came – different thicknesses – so the underside steps up and down. It was a fun build.
We also supplied some old wharf beams for seats around their log fire in the centre of the space. It’s the place to sit on a cold evening - potentially with a delicious burger in the hand from the Brodburger van.
