Thor's Hammer

THE HEART OF THE HOME

July 2021

Earlier this year, we were presented with a kitchen bench top with challenging angles. We asked client Stephanie to tell us a little about why they decided to update their bench tops;

“Our kitchen has always been the centre of our home, but after 16 years of heavy use it was looking tired. It was structurally sound and we liked the design so we decided to update the bench top and facings rather than get an entirely new kitchen. Sustainability was a major consideration, but we also wanted a bench top which would also look good and be hard wearing. This led us to Thor’s Hammer, where Chris and the team sourced a beautiful recycled mountain ash wood for us.”

The stunning timber came from a number of early 20th Century houses from the Blue Mountains region in NSW.

“Our new kitchen bench top looks amazing and makes the kitchen a warm, welcoming centrepiece to our house. We couldn’t be happier with it.”

Stephanie also said that she was particularly impressed by the way the grain matches through all the corners and angles – “it speaks of terrific attention to detail and respect for the materials.”
