A contemporary take on a traditional table.
Rohan Hunt designed this dark beauty with a client who was looking for a contemporary table that still showed the texture and rustic look of the recycled mixed red hardwoods. This meant the top was lightly dressed and left resin-free to show an undulating sawtooth finish.
The bones of design are based in a Thor’s Hammer standard corner table, subtly updated with legs that are both raked and tapered. The feet actually stand wider than the table top in both width and length.
Stained with one coat of OSMO ebony black, the table can appear black from a distance. However closer up you still get the hints of red from the timber beneath.
The timber was salvaged from old house roof rafters.
