This Dovetail table is based on a traditional design from the Takayama area of Japan and is traditionally used in Japanese temple gate construction. The joint allows for movement in the timber as it can be tightened easily by tapping the dovetail further across, which is perfect for the extremes in the Canberra climate.
Made from Recycled Mixed Reds, we used a “sawtooth” finish to lightly dress the timber. This shows off the patina but lets the warmth of the timber shine through. This table is designed to seat 8, but we can scale up or down depending on your requirements.
This one has gone to our new Mixing Room Gallery where they used to mix all the bread before it made it’s way to the ovens. We are slowly filling it with examples of our work so that everything can be seen and sat at, making the design process even easier. It will be opening soon, but if you would like a sneak peek at this one get in touch.
