This was one of the first big commercial jobs Thor's Hammer was involved with. We collaborated with Spectrum Joinery on the project. Thor's Hammer sourced the bridge timbers for the big posts and beams and sawed them back to a smooth finish. The window timbers we dressed from joists salvaged from the strip-out of the Grace Bros building on Broadway.
We also cut the splice joins to make the 12m long posts between the high windows. It was a tense moment when the crane lifted the end joined posts into position, but there was barely any deflection as they came up from the bed of the semi trailer. The timbers are still looking good many years later.
