Thor's Hammer is looking for a capable person to keep our yard and stock well organised, and select timber for orders.
As Yard Manager you will make an important contribution to Thor's Hammer by:
- Organising our yard and timber stock so that orders can be picked out efficiently.
- Hand selecting timbers for our joinery and furniture making.
- Liaising with our salespeople and the Joinery, Dressing and Timber Recycling supervisors to advise on suitable timbers for orders.
- Tallying packs and entering stock into our database.
To succeed in this job you need to be passionate about timber and recycling, be very competent on a forklift (we use side loaders and multi-directional forklifts), have an eye for quality and have a head for arithmetic.
