A fire went through these heritage buildings in New Acton. They left the burnt walls exposed, and installed Blackbutt flooring we salvaged from the Email factory in Zetland.
Herringbone Parquetry Flooring
This Tallowwood flooring salvaged from an old factory, gives a comfortable, worn in feel to the Public Bar in Manuka.
Spotted Gum Boards
This floor is Spotted Gum from the Bicentennial Basketball Stadium Penrith, docked into herringbone parquetry, and laid at the East Hotel, Kingston.
Salvaged Red Mahogany Flooring
An example of older boards, salvaged from the Wedderburn Scales factory in Ashfield. You can see the weathering and age of the boards. They can be left as they are for a more industrial feel, or sanded back to bring up some of the colour of the timber.
Mountain Ash Floor Boards
We recycled a lot of Mountain Ash flooring salvaged from old schools and houses in Melbourne. These boards are usually quite clean and easy to lay. In this house they have been sanded and polished, and look similar to a new board, except for the finer grain and richer colour.
Salvaged Jarrah Flooring
These boards were salvaged from the Supertex factory in Goulbourn.
