After our Design Canberra Exhibition in late 2014 we had a number of clients come to us with ideas inspired by the pieces from the exhibition. This exhibition was all about showing the vast possibility of recycled timber as a material.
This table design came to us from a client inspired by a piece at the exhibition. We really enjoyed working with the client to develop a design met their needs and would last a lifetime.
This table is made from recycled Spotted Gum, seats 8 people when it is closed and up to 14 when it is fully expanded. The table is fitted with high quality spring steel inserts to brace the fold out leaves. Hiroshi Yamaguchi, senior craftsperson at Thor's Hammer, did a great job of the tricky joinery in the sliding supports.
Most importantly the customer was thrilled with the end result, read more about what they had to say here.
