Made in Spotted Gum, with solid round legs that are joined with deep mortice and tenon joins to the rails.
Bed built in Blackbutt & Lillipilli
The mortise and tenon joins on the long rail are held with a bolt and concealed long nut so that the bed can be pulled apart for transport, and when you tighten it back up again, it is solid as with no rocking or squeaks. The Lillipilli slabs were salvaged by a seed collector from logs left to be burnt at a forestry coup.
Curved Head Blackbutt Bed.
This bed has a curved headboard made with solid tongue and groove boards and curved posts and feet. Its mortice and tenon joins are held with a bolt and concealed long nut so that the bed can be pulled apart for transport.
Bed with curved posts and head
The curved posts made cutting the mortise and tenon joints a little bit trickier.
Bed in recycled Brushbox
This bed is actually on castors, concealed from view by the deep frame.
Bed for a bedsit
Built for a small flat, this bed includes heaps of storage and shelves. The bed is built from slavaged Ash flooring, and the shelves from recycled coastal red hardwoods.
